Catherina McKiernan #FBF

Catherina McKiernan was a successful cross country runner for Ireland, collecting four world silver medals 1992-1995 and a gold at the European Cross Country Championships in 1994. She also won a team bronze at the World Cross Country Championships in 1997.

Here we see her run in the 1993 World Cross Country Championships in Spain. Unfortunately McKiernan was affected with injury for a large part of 1999 and 2000, and missed the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. She won the 2004 Great Ireland Run but a lack of fitness forced McKiernan to pull out of the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens, Greece. Shortly after that she announced her retirement.

McKiernan is now a running instructor that offers workshops on the technique of ChiRunning.
