Impressive away win for Irish Boxing Team

The Irish Youth and Junior team recorded an impressive ‘away’ win over England at the Eagle Sports & Social Club in Warrington on Tuesday night.

Caitlin Fryers, Orinta Ringyte, Mary Geraghty, Marguerita Nevin, Daina Moorhouse and Mary-Kate Nevin had their hands raised in victory in the 11-bout international.

Shannon Reilly, Nicole Clyde, Leah Richardson, Aoibhe Clarke and Katelynn Phelan also gave fine accounts of themselves, according to Irish team manager Bernie Harold who hailed the performances of the Irish squad.

Team Ireland are due to wind up their training camp with the host nation this evening with the second meeting of the two countries.

Both are preparing for the 2017 EUBC Youth and Junior championships taking palce 2-10 July in Sofia.

Jimmy Payne and Gerard McDaid are working Ireland’s corner in England.
