Ireland’s female athletes heading to Rio

Team_IrelandWith the Olympics starting on the 5th August, here is a list of all the Irish female athletes competing in Rio. For some it is their first, for others they are returning but all will be hoping to come away with the performance of their lives. got some final words from Lizzie Lee “I’m leaving Cork to go warm weather training in Spain en route to Rio. The thing I am most excited about is standing on the start line, knowing I have all the work done and knowing I earned my spot on that start line and looking to do my friends, family, club and country proud”

As we all know with sport, there have been ups and downs along the way for all our athletes but whatever happens in Rio, they should be all proud to have achieved a lifetime goal and know they have the backing of the Irish people. Best of luck to you all !
