National Road Relays

The Irish Life Health National Road Relays highlight the domestic week ahead in Raheny on Sunday (April 23).

Raheny Shamrock’s men and Leevale’s women will be out to defend their team titles but will face stiff competition from Ireland’s leading clubs.

Raheny Shamrock will have to make do without Mick Clohisey who runs in the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday to cement his place on the team for the World Championships. Sean Hehir (Rathfarnham) and Kevin Seaward (St Malachy’s) are also in the men’s elite field with 2:17:00 the target.

Claire McCarthy (Leevale) is in the women’s race as she eyes 2:38:00 for qualification. The selection policy can be viewed here:

Meanwhile the IAAF World Relays also take place this weekend. There are no Irish teams this year.
