Women in Sports Day

Mair Kelly

At the end of 2016 Munster table tennis held their first ever Women in Sports Day in Goleen Community Hall. The aim of the day was to encourage and promote women’s involvement in the sport with a big emphasis on “healthy body-healthy mind”.

The day was a huge success with over 50 people from all age groups and standards attending and over 400 euro raised for Pink Pong, a cancer awareness charity. A bus from Cork city travelled down picking up people along the way. We had a number of special guests including Michael Collins TD, Skibbereen CoAction, Corinna Fisher who did the yoga class and Deidre O’Leary who gave an aerobics class and Laura Louise who painted everyone’s nails pink!  All the participants got involved in the games and activities and it was a truly successful day and we hope to hold more of these events in the future.
